Fish do better and display brighter coloration when they feel “at home” in your aquarium. Some fish, such as some cichlids and catfish, need a cave-like stucture to hide and reproduce. The latter can be anything hollow that your fish can get into and stay undisturbed by other fish. You can build your own caves for your fish quite easily.
